Default Took my car to Honda and they plugged on of my tires...

I took my car into honda for an oil change and while i was there i told them i had a nail in my tire. I had just got the nail in the day before so it worked out great. they said it was free if they could plug it or 39.99 if they had to patch from the inside. they ended up plugging the tire but i just have a few questions.

the nail was on the part of the tire that directly contacts the road, on the tread itself (right in the middle of the tire) i can see the plug when i look at the tire, and it feels like a soft rubber compound. it's raised up maybe 1/4'' or less. i was just wondering if this is safe, and if there is any chance of it coming out.

thanks guys.

People plug up punctured tires all the time. But like anything else there will always be complaints. Honda did it so I wouldn't be too worried unless you see something blunt that looks like it may need attention.

Yes, it's safe, and no, there's no chance of it coming out. The protruding piece of rubber will wear down to flush with the tread surrounding it soon enough.
