if it's a stock motor, it's a D16.
it wouldn't be a B16 or B18 unless previously swapped.
the engine code can be found on the block, in the front, to the left on the exhaust manifold, where the block meets the tranny.

if its an ex... i'm sure he has a D16 SOHC vtec, no civic ex came with a B16 or B18
the B16 and B18 are DOHC.

to the people responding with the answer, d16z6. how do you guys know that the car is stock? he obviously doesn't know what motor he has and clued in b16 or b18.
to the original poster, post up a picture of the engine bay and we can go from there. or like philosophy said, check the stamp on the block.

Reading pwns you, retard. Whats the point in you giving your opinion on this if the question was already answered? And if you actually read it someone already told him if the car is swapped then it will have a bseries motor.

No offense man, but judging by the lack of knowledge shown by the OP, I doubt he actually knows the difference between any Honda motors, 'cept that some say VTEC on them and some don't. "V-Tec" is a prime example of this lack of knowledge. He just said B16 to B18 because like most uneducated fools, those are the only two motors he knows.
@ OP:
Don't jump to the conclusion of B16 or B18 just because those are the only 2 motors of Honda that you know, or rather they aren't even motors, more actually they're a series. There's 2 mainstream B16's and 4 mainstream B18's - and that's just the US, not including the C7's and **** in Europe.
As others have said, if it's a stock '95 EX (no motor swap), USDM, then it has a D16Z6, which is a 1.6L SOHC VTEC motor.
Or you can just take a picture of the engine bay and post it here, they're quite easy to tell (usually).

Wow, good point, my head's so far up my *** right now I completely forgot about the block code.
@ OP:
To the left of the header (when looking at the engine from the front of the car), and down a little (almost to the transmission), there's a slightly extruded flat piece, and engraved into it is the engine code. It'll say something like B16a2 or B18C1, or D15B. That's what kind of block it is (usually the head too unless he did a mini-me swap).
