Default motor swap

i have a 96 civic ex and i was wondering what would be easier and cheaper to do......

b16a
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30005

or

b18b
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...30005

and what all needs to be done for the swap to be complete and dropped in my car.

thanks.

They're both B series so they would be the same.

the only thing i was wondering is that because the b16a is 92-95 i would have to buy all new mounts and the obdII to obdI jumper harness.....and i thought that the b18b was 94-01 that i could use the stock mounts and harness?

to use either of these motors takes the same amount of equipment. it doesn't make a difference if they are obd1 or 2, the mounts are the same.
alos, just because the integra say 94-01, that doesn't mean you won't get a obd1.
obd1 ecu's were used in integras from 94-95, obd 2 came in 96 and up.

these 2 links should help you with what you need for the swap.

92-95 civics and 94+ integras use the same mounts. and if you ask them for a obd2 b18b nicely im sure he'll give it to you. snice i asked for a obd1 h22a when i ordered it off hmo and they sent it to me.

did you click on the links i provided? if the swap comes with axles, then you can use them. you can use any b16/b18 axles.

as for the harness, if the motor so happens to come obd2, then no jumper is needed. if it's a obd1, all you need is the jumper for the ecu.

i currently have a jdm b16 and i love it. just remember that the b16 is the weakest of the DOHC VTEC motors. everyone is going to have there own opinion though.

b16 is ok. u get the all wonderour VTEC, but im more of a b18b fan. cause of the extra grunt it gives u. but i depends on what u want to do with the motor afterwards as well.

what you would need is the actual rear bracket, not the mount.

i believe it may be coming with the complete swap from hmotors...your talking about that arm looking thing that comes out of the motor and connects to the mount near the firewall correct?

He doesnt understand a damn thing we're saying. You need to fawkin' search kid!!

You know what?? The best way for you to learn is by experience I guess. Just buy the swap and try and install it. You'll figure out what you need real quick. Then you'll wish you researched properly

When I did my first honda swap I searched and searched and searched before ever asking any questions. I made a list of everything I needed. I went down my list and checked off everything I needed. When I was done, I didnt have a single problem. I did an entire engine with tranny swap for the first time in less than 2 days by myself. The car fired up the first try with zero CEL's and never skipped a beat. You know why right?? That cute little search button up top.

I bugs the **** out of me when people come here and ask questions that have been answered 1000000000000000000000000000000000000 times already. Why do we have to do the research for you when all of the info is already here? You're just to lazy to find it

-chill out man n00b for a reason. I appreciated all the help that has been given to me. I then return the favor to fellow honda enthusiast.

-sometimes these searches are hard to follow if your new. thats why they try to bring there own questions to the table.

-sometimes you dont know the name of the part you need or are looking at so you make a thread to best describe it.
-then you can do the search
