Nopi Comp 4 What would make you want to compete?
We are trying to find ways to make a all motor class For Nopi fair for everyone to compete in. I know there is all of all motor guys out there but for some reason we all don't show up to the track. Why is that? What would make the all motor class better and make you want to come out and compete??
Weight per CC. Lets say DOHC, 1lb./cc. B16 =1600 lbs. K24= 2400 lbs. B18= 1800 lbs. Mitsu 2.0=2000lbs. etc. Stock transmission case, free ratios. SOHC .9lb./cc.

Get the car light, lots of your own labor, some plexi-glass, For me, a diet, good suspension, good tires, learn to drive.
I am not sure of the current rules, but if you do not have a 2.2-2.4 engine, stay home. I think a decent B16b @1600 would be a good race VS a decent K24 @ 2400. with both at the same weight why bother unless you had a 2.4.

I think the weight thing is a good start, We need to find out how many would come out and race, Not sure if anyone is aware but Nopi Did away with comp 4 and we are trying to get it back, I am trying to get feed back on why no one races the class? And what it would take to get the all motor guys out to the tracks?

thats not entirely always accurate.
Ask jeremy from inline pro. He has said on many occassions his smaller k motors have made more power than his larger ones. Obviously not written in stone, but neither is what you are saying

I would probably put this on the drag racing forum, most on this one just have dyno queens, and info they heard from someone. There are racers on the Drag and RR forums.

we have a lovely 9 page thread already going about it. Filled with people bickering about rules for a class that doesnt exist yet haha

Rules should be simple. Weight to displacement. RWD a penalty over FWD, DOHC a penalty over SOHC, SOHC a penalty over push rod 2 valve. Just have figure the percents and have P&G cc reader or the top 2( 3,4) pull heads for a Bore and Stroke measurement.

COME ONNN theres a lot to be expected from all the "i want to break 200whp" or "just trying to hit 200whp" i bet those guys wanna run in reverse on any track and the info here is top notch
the 1 pound per CC is ok... b16 blocks will see a real use in allmotor competition

Truthfully, having listening to all the complaining in the other thread I dont even care what the rules are anymore. Ill find a way to be competitive.
I just want a heads up AM street class where you can run on slicks.
I dont even care if i have to pay some extra $$$ in my entrance fee to pay for the payouts in the class.

If you want to bring in a younger crowd, look more into what Don said about no sleeved blocks, custom rods/pistons, etc. I've always thought it would be fun to build a drag car, but my street/HPDE car is priority #1, and the cost of building a competitive drag car steered me away real fast.
I'd like to see a street type class. pump gas, radials, ratios are free but must use OEM case and engagement. internals must be OEM or shelf parts, no custom. top finishers for year have a tear down. must stick with stock induction with exception to updating, this would keep cost down as it would outlaw ITB's and carbs(except on those engines which came with carbs). piggybacks only (again for cost as this would outlaw AEM, Motec, DTA, etc).
Cut the cost down and make it a tangible option for the average joe and I think it would work. Maybe even have regional events, with traveling semi-finals. If you didn't have to travel to almost every event except the semi-finals/finals that would be even more appealing.

what don said is really good guidance but.... monitoring that **** is nuts cause unless they pump your motor there can be a good 50 to 75 lbs of variance that "some" people can take advantage of.
Agreed, but the top 1 or 2 have to pull the head. I also remember that at some IMSA road races, that if you had to pull the head during the weekend, you could could get a tech inspector to check bore and stroke. He would then seal your engine if it was OK. Then you did not need to tear it down, after the race.
