Default what is a PMR (Poormen's Type R) setup?

hello,
first of all, im new to hondatech. i want to say i respect HT and would like to be treated the same. i would like some help from you fellow HT members. im having this issue, what is a PMR setup? i dont know, im new to hondas. i'd just bought this 99-00 ek not to long ago. i wasnt sure what motor was swaped in, but the guy i bought it from all he kept saying was, " its a JDM motor" like ten times hes said that. lol i guess so, it convinced me to buy the car. but anyhow to the point. i took it to some guys and some of my peoples to look at; so far everyone said its a PMR (poorman's type R) setup.
so what is an PMR setup?

Motor.
-B18C block
-B16 head (i think or someone told me)
the weird thing is that B16 came off 98 head. and on the head it reads PR3 or 4.
i have no clue. as i thought b16 head only came off 99-00 SI.
-B16 like intake manifold (small/short)

-LSD tranny.
-type r shift linkage.

-p28 ecu? (its long) all the stickers not there but the cover is shinylike.

-redlines at 8800 rpm.

sorry guys im getting into this honda thing and i dont know much if anyone can help it would be great

It could very well be a JDM ITR engine.

Wow, I never thought that people unfamiliar with Hondas ever bought swapped cars. It didn't bother you that the car was heavily modified? How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking?

look at the intake manifold and see if its a type r. if it is then you might have a itr motor. if not then you might just have a jdm gsr block with a b16 head.

negative. thats a b16 intake manifold not a type-r intake. see the lines cast into the top of the plenum? the type R has a BIGGER plenum and no lines.

but its a GSR bottom with a b16 head. so it still probably scoots pretty good. port and polish the head. get some PCT pistons. and some nice cams and it will lay down some good numbers.

not a bad motor anyway as it is. good buy

well this might help alittle more, i hope.

-When i took i peak under the valve cover, i saw retainers and valvesprings. its duel valvespring and on the retainers theres a funny name inprinted it says "crower" than this number 87091. so what does this mean? is it tuned by crower? is crower any good? or the b16 head come like that?

yea crower stuff is excellent. the head might even be ported and polished already, u should take it to the dyno and see what it lays down. i wouldnt be surprised if u saw 180+hp to the wheels. judgin from all the goodies you keep finding on it.
