new to ht. hello people (:
whats your budget? because the difference beween a b20 and a b18c5 is about $3500 if you go with hmotorsonline.com. So its really up to you and how much money you have to work with. You can ask all day what motor we think you should have, but in the end, its you who will make the choice.
Welcome.... well it depends all on your money budget...goals...time...etc etc but my biggest suggestion would be to use the search button it will become your best friend
well if money isnt a big issue wat should i get ??
i dont kno much about b20's. i hears mostly good things about them. any useful info on them i should kno about ??

B20s have reliability issues unless you really know how to work it. The C5 is an all around bad *** motor. If you're going to turbo it anyway, go non vtec B18. They're cheaper. You can blow more of them up before you give up

You have to be an O.G. to do that.

Well...it was a D15B2. The uh..dual point motor. I had an EF. The motor actually took a lot of abuse till it finally gave out. It lost 1 cylinder when I was on the way to see my friend in NORTH DAKOTA
. Then I drove it like that for 1000 miles (around bismarck and then back home to chicago). Then my friend's car's clutch gave out after some abuse. He was getting a motor swap. So I pushed his car 45 miles on the highway (in the chicago suburbs) to the shop where it was getting the swap. On 3 cylinders.
I had a Z6 sitting in my garage. I bought the motor trans ecu harness whatever..for $200. I HAND BUILT an entire OBD1 conversion harness from the engine back (this was my first swap). The B2 was hangin out in my garage. My friend had a truck. When we threw the engine out, it bounced a lot. It almost bounced back in the truck because my friend started slowing down (from like 70). The engine finally bounced it's way into a ditch and hit :drumroll" A "NO DUMPING" SIGN!!!.
Sorry for my whole life story. It's not over.
The Z6 was awesome in the EF. It was actually really really quick. Then I bought an EG and swapped the Z6 in there...and eventually the Si trans as well. A few 8000rpm downshifts and endless days of road racing later, after deciding against changing the 130k old timing belt, the Z6 was dead.
I bought a B16A. Never looked back on the D series except for to laugh at it. The DOHC motors are better for everything. The D series is cheap, and readily available though. It's a good motor, dont get me wrong. I'm just an NA/Road race guy and the D series really wouldn't cut it.

It is. I now have money, a yacht (and I know how to spell yacht), women everywhere. I also have 2 cars with DOHC VTEC motors. That's 4 cams, brozef. There's no escaping the quad VTEC.

Nah. I dont wanna crop out the license plate. It's a bitchin yacht, though. That's actually it's name. "Bitchin Yacht". Everyone at the yacht club thinks it's profane and idiotic....but they're just mad they didn't think of it first.
What does this have to do with the OP getting a motor? Put a B16A in your yacht..that's the lesson here.

Welcome ek9kevin850! If you are really new to hondas.. I would say turbo what ever motor you have on now in your hatch, so that you can become more familiar with motors and rebuilding blah blah and than buy a b18c5 motor and call it a day.. Good luck
oh yeah, keep reading throughout this whole site, most of your answers are already floating around here..

Gotta make money first, yo. Selling D motors. That's how I roll. They always say never to use what you sell.
