Default would a p28 work with a d16y8 head?

i have a d16y8 head that i got off a buddy and im wondering if a p28 ecu chipped to set vtec on at 4400 rpms would work with the d16y8? what would i have to do to make it work? its going onto a d15b7 block if that matters for anychance on a 92 civic dx.

yes it will work.....jus make sure u match obd so the stuff on the head will plug right in ur harness......dizzy,injectors...etc

You even have to do that, just get a obd2 to obd1 coversion harness from phearable.net. You wont have to worry about wiring anything, plug n' play baby!

Umm no, that made no sense at all. Swap everything over just how sleeperrex said. Which pretty much is the distributor.

wasnt paying attention, but even still phearable.net makes a conversion for the distributor plugs as well. Again, plug n' play. Phearable makes them for 89-91 obd0 to 92-95 obd1 conversion plugs, but i know theres another company that makes them for obd1 to obd2.

As far as the injectors goes, he could just swap over his to the y8 so that he wouldnt have to worry about the plugs.
