Default need advice

hi,everybody
i'm new in honda world.couple of days ago i purchased 1995 honda civic hatchback dx.All i know it's 1.5l.I think it's 92hp.D15 maybe? Now guys tell what i need to make it fast.I mean i really would like to install the turbo. But i believe stock internals too weak to handle the boost.I'm looking about 250-300WHP.Is it possible to achieve such as power?Could give me some links where i can find engine internals and other stuff. And is it possible to make this power.my budget for engine and turbo kit is about $4000.so please tell me what you think. Thanks in advance.

wat

srsly though, you're never going to make 300 hp if you think as good as you sound on the internet.

best thing to do is going to be a swap and a turbo.

but do you have ANY idea what a 300hp 2000lb car feels like?

you're talking fastest car you've ever drempt of, low 12s or high 11s with good driver/traction.

considering most kids with hondas get into the 15s or possibly 14s, you're honestly just not going to do that.

i hate to rain on your parade, but please.

Ok I'll give it to you very clearly, lol.

If you really want a decent amount of power, your going to need to swap. I'd recommend gettin the H22 vtec Dohc swap, because it comes with a decent amount of power already(and is vtec dohc). Grab yourself an engine swap, then when your done with that, get back on here and well give you more advice.

yeah, you def goin to need to swap that to make some good power and still be able to be daily driven... i def would get a heavy *** h22 vtec motor and boost that.. i would do a gsr if anything... but your goin to be spending a little more than 4k...

Agreed. Sometimes it's worth spending the extra money...

Just make sure you have a reliable DD

Dude. I can barely read your garbled mess you call posts. You need to do a swap. You'd get about 200Hp from a stock H22. If you need tips for a swap there is a red search button at the top right hand of this page. Use it and type H22 swap and you'll have about 4 days worth of reading to do. Have fun kiddo!!!

-I THINK YOU SHOULD GO WITH AN LS TURBOED

WHY:
-NOT A HARD HIT ON THE WALLET LIKE VTEC MOTORS
-PLUS YOU WILL BE FINDING YOU NEED ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER (BRAKES, MAYBE SUSPENSION, WHELS TIRES, FUEL PUMPS, TUNING)

-BETTER TO HAVE A SET PLAN WRITTEN OUT AND BUDGET ACCOUNTED FOR. PLAN ON SPENDING MORE ON SOMETHING THAN WHAT THE PRICE SAYS. YOU WILL BE SUPRISED WHEN YOUR ALL DONE WITH IT AND SOME SOME EXTRA MONEY LEFT OVER FOR MORE PARTS OR THE GF THATS PISSED THAT YOU PUT MORE MONEY INTO THE HONDA THAN TOWARDS HER

- I HAD A BUDDY WITH AN LS TURBOED AND IT WAS DAMN FAST(EBAY KIT TOO). BUT FOR 250WHP CAR LS TURBO IS MY VOTE. BESIDES YOU CAN GO LS VTEC IF NOT SATISFIED

MY VOTE : LS TURBOED

Honestly just break bread and go K series (k20-k24) kinda heavy but lovely power and in a eg youll be ROASTN folks and if you plan on puttn a turbo youll be fasssst. being that ur new to hondas its gonna cost you more anyways cause ur probably gonna have someone do the swap for you unless you got some friends with knowledge..............

definately do a b series since you can use most stock parts and it's a straight drop in for the most part. make sure you save a good bit of money for tuning because i personally can tell you that a bad tune will kill many motors. if you have any questions feel free to ask

thank you all guys.I'll try my best(as much as my finances allowe).I see one thing in honda world is different that you have to see what kind of engine you choose. All 3 years i was a vw golf fan.and i still own one. 1.8 Turbo is much easer to play with. But again honda motors are trouble free engines if you treat it right. And cheaper to build.Oh well i'll see what i can do.I would search more without asking you guys but i'm on the "trail" now.and i can not use "search" for a week.So thanks again.

alright this is what i did.

All i have is a stock B18b with a B16 tranny and boosted it, only other thing is exhaust and i'm pushing 340 hp on 20lbs of boost. My biggest reccomendation is get it tuned. My motor would have blown many times if it wasnt tuned. so your hp can be accomplished easily with the right tuning

egstockboosted thanks you too buddy. So as i understand the b16 can be found on 1996-2000 honda civic right? You know i would find $1000 for carillo pushrods and pistons to be on the safe side.I know proper tuning is a main key,but on summer i would like to go on drag strip ones a month. And it would be really upleasant if i'll make damage for my block.

ya man my best suggestion is if you get the ls or b16 block and have time to play with it a little, put some pistons and rods in before you throw it in. I personally went with the ls because they love boost, but boost and v-tec together is awesome. either way you go your gonna have the power you need. just remember, your gonna need some weight in the front i.e. maybe some heavier rims because my biggest problem is i cant quit peeling out because of the b16 tranny OR you can go lsd!

hmmm.. i didnt read the whole page, but im going to tell you what i would do with 4k and a goal of 250ish.

1) swap the motor for a LS
2) get a small turbo kit, nothing too big, if you want a DD, and wanna save your motor
3)head work, and if you can squeeze more out the wallet, block work.

all of this depends on you connections and actual labor and wrench time. turbo can be annoying for a DD at times(especially up north), but it has its upsides.
