Default '99 EX sedan, 5-speed mid-pipe exhuast leak?

I just noticed a small leak after the resonator/pre-muffler in the stock B-pipe/Mid-pipe on my '99 Accord EX sedan 4cyl, 5-speed. What is my best bet here Marmont makes just teh rear section resonator back I can replace. I can put the whole mid-pipe for like $169. Can I just stright pipe the resonator and eliminate the resonator/ pre-muffler all together? How will this affect the sound of the car, any performance gains?

Well I have a baby on the way so I DO NOT want any exhuast leaking into the cabin during the winter months. I would like to gain MPG and maybe hp in the process. But I do not want it too loud on the highway commuting to work.

I have a '99 5-speed LX. If I had that leak on my car I'd replace the whole system like you originally thought (just before the resonator (or after the cat) on back).

If that one pipe has rusted through I am positive that the rest of the system isn't that far behind - and since you are planning on keeping the car for a long time, just do it right and be done with it. Besides, replacing everything at once will be a lot easier than trying to replace the middle pipe.

How much is an OEM system, resonator back?

OEM is $169!! Just for the pipe, no hardware or gaskets!

OK, I'm seeing the $170 pipe, but that's more than just the pipe - the resonator is included. The muffler itself looks to be around $186. Add in a little bit for gaskets / hangers and I think that'd be it - so around $375 or so for an OEM system. That's not cheap, but it's not outrageous either.

The site I was looking at was http://www.hondapartsdeals.com . I have never ordered from them (or even heard of them until about 5 minutes ago).

Got the pipe, had to order the spring bolt kit. What gasket do I need between the cat and the mid-pipe? What about the gasket where the midpipe ties into the muffler section in teh back. Do I need taht soft metal cone thing that I used in my wife's '99 CIVIC EX sedan??
