bridgestone re01rs or yokahoma advan's?
let me know from your experience ive been doing a lot of research and thus far ive gotten about equal response to 2 tires but the only good thing about the re01r's is they are a hell of a lot cheaper... $100 a piece at tirerack comparing to the advans for over $200 a piece let me know what your opinions are.

Yokohama makes a lot of different tires with the ADVAN name on them, including supersticky tires, all-season tires for snow, etc. Which ADVAN tire are you looking at? And what size, and what kind of car is this for? And how will you be using it - daily driving, autocross/track, etc - and what kind of weather conditions (sun, rain, snow)?

expletive im not sure the extreme racing advans also will be for DD/autocross on an eg 2door in the sun and rain no snow

If you got the money, I would buy a set for daily driving and another set for RR/Auto-X. For example, Kumho Ecsta SPT for DD, Yokohama Advan A048(EXTREMELY sticky tires) for RR/Auto-X.
Yokohama Advan A048 is the ultimate RR/Auto-X tire IMO.
I believe that's what they were made for.
I've seen more axles break with these tires than the tires giving up.
NOT recommended for DD and expensive but worth the money if you track a lot.
If you on a budget you should get Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R.
You can use them at the track and drive back home on them.
Great tires but expensive.
Another cheaper and popular alternative is Falken Azenis RT-615.
They are cheaper than both tires above, not as sticky but it cuts corners on the track and can be used for DD.
Most of the time, stickier the tire=shorter lifespan (low tread)
Which is why if you RR/Auto-X a lot you would save a lot of money and time for having another set of wheels and/or tires.
Time to do some math

Then you're either talking about the Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 or the Yokohama A048 track tire. And neither one comes in sizes for an EG for street use.
Get the Bridgestone RE01R in 195/50-15 if you have 15" wheels. If you have 16" wheels, get the Falken Azenis RT-615 in 205/40-16. Note that both of these tires will wear quickly when used in daily driving (you might get 10-12K miles on a set) and they won't be as good in rain as many other tires. Which is why doubleshotz's advice, to get two separate sets of wheels, one with longer-lasting street tires and the other with supersticky tires for your autocrosses, makes sense.
