ALTERNATOR NOISE ?????

Default ALTERNATOR NOISE ?????

WHEN I START MY CAR IN THE MORNING I HEAR THIS WEIRD NOISE COMIN FROM THE ALTERNATOR...IT ALSO DOES IT WHEN I DRIVE ....SHOULD I REPLACE IT OR TE BELT ....LET ME KNOW


I ALSO HAVE A STERO SYSTEM COULD THAT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT?

is it a slight "clank clank" sound? almost piston slappish? b/c my alt has been doing that since i had my car, its just a little bit of shaft play. If the sound worsens i'd replace it, if not just let er ride.

Probably a worn bearing. I've seen a few of those. Replace your alternator, they aren't expensive and worth not dealing with it dying later on.
