It's "JDM," it comes with a premium.

i believe:

b18c = jdm type-r
b18c1 = usdm gsr
b18c5 = usdm type-r

b18c has beefier valvetrain, different cam profile, higher compression 11.0:1 i think. also, the transmission gearing is very different between the two. the b18c gears are closer. and doesn't LSD come standard on this tranny?

b18c1 has like a 10.4:1 or 10.2:1 CR... don't quote me on the numbers.

You're half right. "B18C" JDM engines can be either GS-R or Type R - sucks huh?

I believe he's talking about the GS-R, which does NOT have the following:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">b18c has beefier valvetrain, different cam profile, higher compression 11.0:1 i think. also, the transmission gearing is very different between the two. the b18c gears are closer. and doesn't LSD come standard on this tranny?

The only differences between the JDM SiR-G/GS-R B18C and the USDM one is that the JDM has 10.6:1 CR due to higher piston domes, and the JDM engine's VTEC solenoid lacks the VTEC oil pressure switch, so if you run a USDM P72 ECU it will look for the VTEC pressure switch - you either add a USDM VTEC solenoid with pressure switch to the JDM engine, or you loop the wire at the ECU pin to trick the US spec ECU into thinking the JDM engine has the switch.

Also LSD was optional in the JDM GS-R, but never offered in the US.

Unless the mileage is way less on the JDM version (only TRUE way to know is to see the front clip's odometer) than the USDM one it's not worth an extra $1000.00 IMO. the extra CR is nice, especially if you plan on going N/A with light mods, but otherwise it's not a huge difference.

EDIT:

I just saw in your sig that it has an LSD tranny that's been rebuilt.

Are you selling the entire swap? If you are I'd consider maybe upping the price to $3,500.00 due to the rebuilt, LSD tranny.
