ARGHH! Need some fast help with a "broken upper ball joint"
I recently went to get my car inspected and like the topic says I have a broken upper ball joint. I need to get it fixed soon. My folks talked to the dealership and they said they have to buy the entire control arm. They said the repair cost would be $500-$600?!?!?!? Does this sound right or are they screwing me / Is there an alternative? (Im very hesistant about this dealership as they have in the past been well ...... Pieces of shyt) I did a search and found very little and nothing that helped. It might be obvious but im not mechanically inclined but any help would be greatly appreciated.
you can get an entire upper control arm assembly, WITH BALL JOINT, from H.A.P. Recycling for $65. http://www.haprecycling.com
Installation is simple but you'll need a ball joint separator, $18-$20 from Sears. Remove the cotter pin from the castle nut, then the nut. Separate the joint, remove the 2 nuts from inside the shock tower (under the hood) and the entire assembly is out. Simple as that.

Thanks!!! Sounds quite a bit better than dealer price! Anyone else?
Its an easy swap to perform yourself, and the parts are cheap.
A new upper arm with ball joint is only @40 bux from
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...tcgry5=KNUCKLE (you need part 5 or 6 and 7 and 8 ) But this is for an EK.
If you have an EG its a lot more (100)
