CRVtec and LSVtec are both great motors if they are built properly. Just keep in mind that you will not be able to pass BAR with either and if you receive a ticket you will have to yank the motor.
boosted single cam FTW.... dunno bout all the BAR stuff an all that, but thats just one of the perks of livin in FL lol.. I dont have to know about it haha... Just sucks for a bunch of u Cali guys who get vehicle inspections an ****... Im from Jersey so i kno about'm but down here in FL we dont have ****... Probably be easier to boost ur single cam an tune it to perfection im sure you wouldnt have any smog problems or any of that... Just be clean

IMO toss in a good old B series VTEC engine like the B18C1, B18C5, etc. etc. LS and CR-VTEC engines aren't much better, if any, than a similiarly built regular VTEC engine block/head as it came from the factory.
Why build a car that can't pass BAR? Start with a BAR legal engine and keep it street legal. There's no point in doing a non-VTEC block with VTEC head just to be cool.
If non-VTEC blocks were soooo ******* amazing for VTEC heads then why did Honda spends years and millions of dollars in R&D and retooling costs to reengineer a B series VTEC block? they could just resued the already built/manufactured B18a blocks if they were even adequate for VTEC duty. no they knew it was garbage at higher rpm, so they retooled and engineered the B18C1 engine with slightly destroked crank/rods - 1797cc vs. 1834cc, oil squirters, etc. etc.

i feel ya, but its a basic build and tuned right would probably help you pass emissions... just throwin my .02 in...

well one of my friends has about an identical setup as me an hes pushin 226hp on 10lbs... hes peiced together a complete bottom end build for under 600 and plans on havin that done before x-mas time an than runnin 20+ psi hopin for close to 400hp...

I'm surprised that no one has commented on your choice for suspension...
Tokico blues are pretty much a stock replacement and aren't really suited well for lowered applications. (I'm sure there are many here that would argue that point but they just suck at controlling the higher spring rates that GCs are going to provide.)
You should consider the Illuminas at the very least if not step up to a nicer shock that's meant for lowering, the Koni Yellows or SP3s would probably give you a nicer ride.
P.S. go with the B series engine, it's got more potential in stock configuration and a LOT more aftermarket support.

how much to the Illuminas go for? Well, for right now im just going to rock the tokico blues and maybe rock one of ones your suggested later on. im buying the tokico blues because my homeboy is giving me them for a pretty good deal.

Im a New Yorker what is bar? And a built lsv can handle high rpm no problem. 9500 no problemo.

If we would like to put a intake manifold, header, or intake they need to all have a CARB certified sticker etc. Also FPR are illegal, you wont pass visual inspection. Frankenstein motors like B20vtec, LSvtec, GSR's w/ B16 heads or similar, H2B, F2D etc etc are not legal.
If you do a motor swap the motor must be from the same year or newer than your car's year. You can run JDM motors, but some modification is needed in order to pass a BAR ref. All EVAP components must be hooked up, you have to run a catalytic converter... hmm. The list goes on and on. Oh yeah, if you go turbo you must have a CARB sticker from the manufacturer... like Greddy and Edelbrock kits.

So if im understanding right, it sucks to live in Cali lol. Greddy kits suck monkey *****. I see pics of custom turbo set ups all the time..... Does that mean they got someone to hook you up? So basically bar to you is like inspection to us. People here in ny can get inspection stickers if the price is right if you car cannot pass inspection (CEL, Loud Muffler,No Cat etc). Nothing like that in Cali? I guess they got honda specialist cuz not everyone can spot a frankstein motor. Lol
