Default spoon exhaust

im looking into which exhaust to pick up. i have decided on either the hytech, sms-p, or toda header. i like the t1r exhaust and ive heard good things but i was wondering what peoples opinions are on the spoon b pipe and n-1 tip. i readsomewhere that it was one of the best exhausts for a vtec car but that was froma web-site and its probably just to sell the item.

i appreciate any and all inputs.

That spec 2 is basically like a 12inch resonator in the middle out to a straight pipe to the back of the car lol.

spoon n1 in my opinion are way too loud, even with a siliencer, but it is one of the best looking exhaust in my opinion cause its not too big. I personally love the sound and look of the T1R because of the burnt tip, but again, it is again on the loud size, so depends if you can't handle the noise.

I have a spoon n1 with a 60 mm rsr exmag midpipe with no resonator... It's not as loud as I thought. I absolutely love the way it sounds. My buddy has a Bc spec 2 and its UNGODLY. Never heard a honda so loud.

You're getting a 2.5" header. It doesn't make sense to combine it with a 60mm exhaust. Get a 2.5" exhaust and call it a day.

Are you looking for ultimate performance for a track car where full exhaust is still required, or are you working on a street car?

If you are working on a street car, let me tell you that one of the most pleasant stages that my ITR went through was when it was very mildly modified with an OEM JDM 4-1 exhaust (very cheap) and a full, custom 2.5" exhaust with cat and silencers to make sure it looked stock and did not attract attention either with the noise or the looks.

It was very strong at this stage and was still very quiet and pleasant to drive on the street, with the added advantage that no Virginia or Maryland trooper looked twice at the exhaust.

I'm going to move this to ITR Forum because I do not believe your premise fits very well into the All Motor Forum's posting trends, and because I think you'll get good, reasonable advice from the ITR Forum tribe.

....

my hytech setup:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2140905

i've never heard the buddy clubs, t1rs, spoons, or the SMSPs in person but i've heard good things, for the most part about all of them. the buddy club is supposedly extremely loud. the spoon one is like 2.38 in diameter so i guess it's a liiiiitle more restrictive than the others. SMSP and hytech would be more expensive ones of the bunch, but you get what you pay for. if you go for a new hytech, expect to wait... probably more than 6-9 months. i got mine used on HT and LOVE it. don't know how long the turnaround time is on the smsp. GL

EDIT: dang, that bc spec-2 is loud:

If the exhaust looks stock and is not noisy, homeboy's not going to crawl under the car.

The statute that regulates exhausts in Virginia says, "...stock or stock-like...."

Most of them aren't going to ever get upset enough with you to look under the car.

i used to have jdm itr 4-1 header with vibrant 2.5 inch midpipe and stock R exhaust- raspy

then got the mugen twinloop with 4-1 itr header and it sounded amazing but then due to my car being super low it killed the midpipe resonator

now ihave full spoon n1 midpipe and axleback and i love it. sounds awesome.

it depends on your limit for loud
i love my setup(see sign below), i don't think it's too loud. sometime it's even quiet when you have the right % of throttle, speed and gear on hwy.
you will definitely love vtec with spoon

Running a Toda header -> T1R exhaust.

Without the silencer - loud. Earplugs on the highway loud.
With the silencer - quiet (well, quieter), but there is a noticeable loss of power.
