Program's ITR could be #345, his VIN does fit the mold fairly well. The 1997 badges were based on a total of ~512 ITRs sent to North America (US and Canada). Only 320 of which were sent to the US.

.... And to conclude my thread, I finally found the right one. Taking possession of a 1997 within the week. This one has never seen the registry on the integratyper.org site. I am going to decide not disclose any info on the car by the sellers request.
IMO, Those in the market for this particular model who try to haggle with sellers too much are not too wise in doing so. The ITR has all of the visceral elements of sports cars of the 1950s and 1960s BUT in a modern chassis. It was one of the best-handling cars in production, regardless of price, and possibly the best handling front-wheel drive car ever made.... And still holds that title. You will never see a car manufactured to these specifications available to the public again....due to CARB, DOT and the shirts in the committee.
So if your looking at one....JUST BUY IT! Even the salvaged ones will be difficult to find; this trend is not going or fading away anytime soon. So Feel proud to say "I paid top dollar for that Heap"!!

I was told, when I bought #40 in 1997 from Tustin Acura that there were 318 shipped over from Japan. They were originally going to produce 500. But the actual shipping happened 6months late.
This is what I was told back in 1997

Originally 320 in the US + 160 in Canada = 480 total '97 ITR's. There were 514 badges made, but 34 were unused. I put a few sales type things that I got from Acura here: http://www.integratyper.org/specs/usdm-type-r-sales.htm.
OP congrats on the purchase! Treasure it and keep her safe.
