Default '95 EG5 hatch problems ..plz help

Hi,all

This is really begining to frustrate me..My car has problems idling and sometimes while I driving the motor shuts off..After driving the idle can vary from 800 to 1100 for a long time before stabilizing..And when driving the engine can all of a sudden shut off..It begins with it not taking the gas properly..Then it gets choppy and then it shuts off..Only way to keep it running is to floor it which is something that not easy when driving in the city..The CEL normally comes on with an error 3 and 20..Meaning MAP sensor and Engine load..Is it the MAP sensor or maybe something else ??? Hope you can help here..I getting quite pissed at my car right now

Are you running the stock engine or do you have a swap done?
Anyways, change the map sensor with one off of a buddys car just to check it out...any Honda MAP sensor will work, off of a 1988-91 Civic/CRX, DEl Sol, Civic, Integra, etc.
Your ELD code shouldn't cause a problem while driving, I have a B16A swapped into my EG hatch and the ELD code is always there, since I am using a JDM ECU and Canadian made Honda's don't have an ELD in them, so I always get the code.
As far as the erratic idling, if it doesn't go away when you change out the MAP sensor, change your IAC valve, it's located on the back of your intake manifold, two 12 mm bolts hold it on and there are two coolant lines attached to the bottom of it.
Good luck and let me know what happens!

try and do the following from above and see what happens next, what i think your problem is your hoses, make sure none of it is loose or not connected.....i have a first gen b16a and the map sensor has to be hooked up with a hoses (it doesnt sit on the TB) so when ever it is loose my motor will cut off... check out everything and see if its connected correctly

yes it the stock engine..Il try to mess around with the hoses and stuff and swap sensor with a friend..Problem is that a new sensor will be very expensive (so the local Honda dealer told me) ..2-300 USD Can that be right ??

Dude, if it is your map sensor, you don't have to buy a new one...get one out of a J/Y car, like I said, any Civic, Integra, etc.
Peace
