Hey guys,
So I replaced the radio and while it works perfectly, the light that illuminates the speedometer does not work. I found the fuse that controls it and it was blown. I replaced the fuse and the lights worked perfectly...for about 20 min. Now they are out again. I read in the owner's manual that if a fuse blows shortly after replacement that it could indicate a more serious electrical problem. Any ideas? Incidently, the chime for the headlights being on after the engine is off also quit working. Any chance this is all related?

When you installed this radio, how'd you do the install?

You are probably shorting out something back there.

 

When I did the installation, I simply combined the colors of the wire harness to the the wires of the Honda. I have electrical experience and it all seemed very straightforward. If there is a short, how in the world do I go about finding it? Also, the fuse that controls the lights is different from the one that conrols the radio, but is it possible they are linked somehow?

 

Well there is one that's like "backup radio" or something along those lines.

When I did the install on mine I blew that which resulted in the radio not turning on and the clock being very dim all the time.

I'd pull it out and take a look to make sure all the wires are correctly hooked up (maybe you reversed a ground/power?)
