I am contemplating movong the World Cup Finals (Import vs Domestic) to a Saturday next year (instead of doing the even on Sunday as it has always been). The World Cup has just out grown Sunday. I really am not ready to make this a two-day event yet. But could turn into a Friday night-Saturday event in the futue.

If we did this, we would do a Friday night (move in), for parking and tech in 2008, with possibly a test & tune. And Sunday would just be a test & tune.

I don't think it would matter much to the local guys like us of course, But I think it would help out the guys that travel from NJ, PA, and even further. Knowing that you won't be getting home a couple hours before you have to go to work monday morning might bring even more racers.

Either way, This is a badass event.

EDIT: Darren, stop complaining, you know what you need to do

I like the idea... we travel from the Pgh area and having it on a Saturday would be very nice. No more getting home just in time to get to work on Mon. morning

Yeah, I think its a good idea as well. Would def be easier on the people that have to travel several hours to race in this event. I couldnt make it this year after I got my hopes up of racing

Saturday would be alot better, seems the event goes pretty late every year. Plus could just stay and do more testing on Sunday.

How about a 2 day event with qualifying all day Sat and Sun morning?

I still think this race is big enough to make it a 2 day event. I noticed your track officials were rushing us through the burn out box. Well some of us doing 3rd gear burn outs cant just rev it and dump the clutch. We have to build boost. Alot of us could have run better times if you guys were not pressed for time!

just my 2cents

get rid of the burnout contest. its such a waste of time. moving the event to sat. would be cool though.

one of these years i hope to have a running car for this event haha.

i think saturday would do nothing but make things better.

i still think you should run this event twice...once at the beginning and one at the end of the season!

i definitely agree with Joe , bring it on twice a year, if not ,Saturday would help with those who are traveling . I saw alot of new jersey tags , thats a good ride on sunday night , if event runs late or not.

Ok so i have to comment on the burnout contest!!!
i know it brings in some fans and people like to see it. But honestly for us racers.. its terrible..lol

We actually picked up a peice of someones tire..like a nice big chunk of it, with some metal hanging out of it. It was stuck to our front bumper, after a pass.

I have no clue where we picked it up..lol im just glad it didn't do any damage to the paint or anything.

It was probably that 240's . . . who shows up to a burn out contest, blows the tires apart and has no back up's to drive home on..haha.

I also think the Saturday event is a great idea. Not so sure if it eventually turns into a 2 day event that a friday/ sat is such a good thing though, especially for people that work m-f . but i guess thats a few years away in your eyes ....

I just hope to make it next year

I think Saturday is a great idea! I also think you'll have a pretty packed out test and tune that following Sunday, a lot of people are out to run that number at the end of the season

I also agree with Joe on having the event twice a year, once at the beginning of the season and once at the end. Although, I'm sure that would create a lot more stress for you!

--Oh yeah, Jason, I dropped my pictures off at race control on Sunday. Feel free to use them however you want! I just put them all on a DVD (wouldn't fit on a CD) so excuse the bad shots
