Default exhaust bolt question

Is there some secret to the spring loaded bolts at the cat? ive taken them off and put them on before with the help of the good ole c-clamp, I'm about to put a test pipe on my DA and I was wondering if there was a easier way to put them back on?

Not really that I have ever found. Squeeze together as tight as you can to get one thread started... If there is that I feel like a tard then... Swapped numerous exhaust systems and I just push them together as tight as I can....
