I have an automatic 1995 Accord LX

It has been giving me problems where when I turn the key the engine cranks but it won't completely start. Sometimes I can even hear it almost start(like make running engine sounds?) then go back to cranking.

It only does this when I haven't driven it in a while. Like at least a day. Once I get it going it won't do it again unless I don't drive it for at least day or two.

Originally I thought it had to do with the cold weather, because that was the only times it would give me problems. It also seemed like it only happened when the oil was low, like I could just put some more oil in and it would work fine!

But today it was hot and muggy, and the oil was fine, and it's doing the same thing. So I'm not sure what is going on. What all should I check? Could it be the spark plugs?


EDIT: It usually starts eventually if I spend enough time trying to start it or if I just leave it alone for a while and then come back and try again.

 

its the main relay buddy.

its mounted on the steering column.

 

I saw all the stuff about the main relay on the forums but I figured that if it was the problem nothing at all would be happening with I turned the key. I'll check it out though.
