Mounting 4 point harnesses.
Ok I have a coupe and some 4 point sparco harnesses with bride seats with momo sliders and mounts. Where or how do I mount the harnesses. I know someone on here has some pictures. Please post em.
I hope I don't have to have a bar behind the seats....If I do where is a good place to pic up a good one?
Thanks

shoulders use the rear stock seatbelt holes. those also use eye hooks as well. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Im not picturing the rear mounts. I have one mount on my rail and then of course the threaded hole on the door side and then one on the B Pillar.
I was thinking you might get them to the rear seat mount bolts but I don't like that idea to well.

you know the lab belts for the rear passangers.
well if you unbolt the lapbelt/buckling thing for the rear passangers, you use an
eye hook in that hole (where the lapbelt/buckle thing was just removed)
and thats what you attatch your shoulder harness too.
or
get a harness bar n wrap your harness around that.

harnesses dont belong in a car without a rollbar.
period.
i dont care if you have a harness bar, its not the way they are designed to work. the "higher" end of safety doesnt work in pieces. you cant just add a bucket and harness. you need a rollbar.
the longer the strap the more stretch it has and the more likely injury is during an accident. thats why you want to avoid going to the rear tower or seatbelt holes and it should be wrapped around a bar connected to a rollbar.
rollbar, or no harness.

harness bar or rollcage or dont do it. If you dont install and mount the harness correctly they can do more harm than good, its bad when your spine gets compressed because you were too lazy to do something right.

-look if you want harnesses you want to mount them to it.
-mount shoulder belts directly behind you level with your shoulders
-mount lap belts to stock locaton of oem lap belts
-5th point. make a bar mounting to both front seat bolt going from left to right and loop around that bar.
-harnesses should always be very snug/tight (not loose) this is the point of having them. being loose can cause whiplash and broken collar bones if not worse.
-and mount them correctly.

-well first you have 5 restraints (NOT 2)
-thats just like asking why dont we have noraml passenger car seat belts in racecars.
-most crashes in racecars are xpected when something goes wrong. there are more controlled conditions with run off and safe barriers.
-on the street you never know whos around you where the run off is and all the walls are concrete, trees, cliffs, other vehicles that are bigger.
-5 point is always better for safety you just lack comfort

You'll be lacking both safety and comfort if you roll the car over, the roof collapses because you have no roll protection, and your spine ends up several inches shorter as you're held upright in your seat. If you think you're "safer" with your 5-point harness connected only to a harness bar, you're gravely mistaken.
