noise problem!! very irratating. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey guys i picked up this 88 hatch. well recently this sqeaking noise has occured. it sounds like the hatch is loose so i checked all the bolts and there fine. the previous owner threw on some adjustable coilover. in a rush he didnt even out adjustments so every one is at a different level. but i cant figure out the nois and where its coming from. any ideas on what it could be or if anyone had a similar problem
the exhaust squeeks on my gf's car towards the rear. does it have an aftermarket exhaust on it? just an oppinion. it could be alot of things. pull the rear tires off and see if theres any visual of anything rubbing on each other.
the exhaust is bone stock. it rubs a little but thats cuz it got shifted during a cat install. i thought it could be the bushings but i wont know untill i can pull it apart.
first of all(and not trying to be mean) you have to clearly find where the noise is coming from if you really want help. if you find that, people can help you. find it, ill try to help

If it sounds like the hatch is loose its probably your hatch seal. My sqeaks like a bitch. Its like 60 bucks from honda.

Try and br more specific about where the noise is coming from. The EF is a 17ish year old car and it may have it's share of squeaks and groans.
BUT
If you think the noise is coming from the hatch latch... Use electrical tape to wrap a few loops around the strike on the hatch. The strike plate is the part on the body where the latch on the hatch secures to the frame...
This is a relatively common problem, and has always worked for me. I'm sorry if my description is too vague. Good Luck.
