Both are way too big for a d15b.

If all you have is bolt-ons, stick with your stock throttle body. You can also call Skunk2 to see what they recommend you use with their intake manifold.

OK what part of "both are way too big" do you not get?

People are making over 300whp with 56mm throttle bodies.

Take my advice or leave it...

There is alot to take into consideration before you need a bigger throttle body. Being turbo these are what you need to look at. How big of a turbo, how much psi from said turbo you plan on boosting (no such thing as 8-10psi, that just means you have a shitty wastegate and cant control your boost), changing the cam, lowering the compression for more boost, rev limit, whats your whp goal, etc?

Ive had customers make well into 200whp with a small turbo, stock D15B from oil pan to throttle body, and 440cc injectors. I wouldnt push a stock D series past 250whp, so i say stock is fine as well.

by saying D15b, you mean the JDM D15b Vtec motor right?

Because I had a 94 CX with a 1.5 and the TB was ridiculously small, then I swapped a JDM d15b in and it had a much larger TB. Don't know the actual size (mm) of either though.

A larger plenum should be paired with a smaller throttle body, and a smaller plenum should be paired with a larger throttle body.

Why do you think you'll benefit from a larger throttle body? Why do you think somebody who has one knows better? Would you trust somebody who owns an electric supercharger when you want supercharging advice?

I mean is this true?I know I aint gonna get HP from it or mean *** torque but would it atleast help with throttle response?D's are torqueless already

Dont D-series put down more TQ than B series?

The JDM d15b TB should be just fine, I doubt you'll see or feel any gain from a bigger one. But how much does the TB you want cost? Why not just try one out and let us all know what you find.

It's an illusion.

The rate of change of the aperture is greater than that of a throttle body with a smaller diameter. Essentially, more air will flow at a smaller throttle position. However, if you open a larger throttle body wide open, you are not increasing the flow rate; you are merely reducing the air velocity and negatively affecting your power production. You will allow the engine's flow rate to reach its maximum before the throttle is fully opened, and everything beyond that point is useless.

To take advantage of a larger throttle body, you should get a cam that requires it. Also, as I said before, a larger plenum should be paired with a smaller throttle body, and a smaller plenum should be paired with a larger throttle body. Other factors affect ideal throttle body size, but those are the primary concerns.

In general, no, that's not true. The only case I know of is the d17a2's 114 ft-lbs vs. some b16's with 111 ft-lbs.

Really? Why not? You don't think people buy electric superchargers, Tornado's, and front-mount intakes for the expletive of it?

Did you read my explanation at all? Is there anything I should clarify?

I meant built motors, not factory numbers. But that's not really relevant.
