Default check engine light!

b16a in a 97 dx hatch. Right now im running an obd1 P72 with a jumper harness.
My problem is that my check engine light does not turn on untill i reach exactly 50mph. Could there be something wrong with my jumper harness?or the computer. Its never happened before

When ever you CEL is on you lose power and gas mileage maybe get a reader and have someone ride with you and when you get up to 50 and the CEL comes one tryh and pull the code
