Did the electrical testing tonight. I think the problem is in the power switch (89 Civic LX). I'm going to the library tomorrow for the diagnostic chart from the service manual (I wish I could check it out :\ )

What's a typical "used" retail on something like this?

if you are talking about the blower inside the car...the try this very simple test.
sit in the passenger seat, turn the swithc on high, and kick the bottom of the blower with your foot...mine was going bad months ago and somebody told me to try this...it still works. if that doesn't work then check the circuit...on the bottom of the fan assembly there is a 2 pin connector.. dissconnect it and check for power across it with the blower fan switch set on the highest speed...if you have power then the blower fan is bad...if you don't have power then the problem is elsewhere...let me know.

 

Tried that, bro...believe me. The fan used to work sporadically but would run if I flicked the fresh/recirc lever back and forth real fast.

I'm now 99 percent sure that the switch had a bad ground, so I just have to run a new wire and put everything back together and I should be all set
