Well I have no idea what happened but all of a sudden the last two weeks or so the gas milage on my 95 LX 4 door has been horrible. I used to get around 27-30 mpg highway and city. Now im only getting around 20. Cap and rotor are new, wires are new, plugs are new, oil was just changed, tire pressure is good and tires are new, tranny was just flushed. The only thing i have not done on this car is the fuel filter and ultrasonicly cleaned the injectors, which im doing soon however I cant see that being why gas milage just dropped off so bad. And also driving habits are the same, the car is slow bone stock so i drive it like that.

 

Air filter?

Exhaust system leaks?

 

Stuck open Thermostat? I had that problem once when it got cold with my previous car... Just something quick to check and cheap to fix if you do it yourself.

Just an idea for you.

 

I would double check the vacum lines for pressure leaks or disconeted hoses. then i would doublecheck your mass airflow sensor. If any dash alert lights appear, you can go to a local Auto Zone and get a free computer readout from your ECU. Best of luck. Try a new air filter and feul filter too. Oh and if you do get cold air or other vehicle mods, remember that you have an OBD2 ECU. Ussually not friendly to modifications.

Air filter is clean. Exhaust system is in good shape.

Hmm that could be it the warm up times are alittle too long even with the colder temps. I prolly just change that, its a $10 part at most so theres no harm.

They dont have MAF, it uses speed density. And a 95 is obd 1. Thanks though
