Default cracked wire tube causing misfire?

i have a 96 VTEC, chipped p28 tuned with Crome. i recently discovered my valve cover wasn't tightened down properly and was leaking oil everywhere including around the spark plugs. i absorbed as much oil into a rag as possible then took the plugs out so the remaining oil would drop down in the cylinders and burn out. (it was a lot, couldn't even see the plugs at first)... i noticed one of the tubes from my NGK wires (ive only had for like a year) was cracked pretty badly (about 3 inches) so we wrapped it with electrical tape. Ever since, the car has bogged and misfired badly throughout the entire power band. it started out being seldom but now its gotten to the point now where any acceleration is quite difficult and you can forget WOT.

im gonna go ahead and assume the cracked wire tube is the source of the problem. Its hard for me to say considering within a weeks time, the car was converted to OBDI, tuned, the oil leak was discovered, and i got a CEL for TDC sensor (which i replaced and the CEL is gone). the idle is fine so i can rule out bent valves right? the timing is fine as far as i know.

the weird thing is, the car didnt misfire while the oil was still in/around the plugs, only after it was cleaned out has it gone crazy on me. ? what is going on?

im ordering all new OEM plugs and wires from majestic this week. if that doesnt solve the problem, i have no idea what to do. anyone else ever cracked a wire tube? would this cause "arcing"?
