got pulled over
so i was driving my girlfriend ep after dropping her off from work today and got pulled over..
why did he pull me over? no plates in the front, because the day before it fell off, dont know why, and i ran it over. picked it up and a clip was broken and the bolts were gone. dont know, maybe someone tried and steal the plates? so i just threw it in the back of the trunks and was planning on buying new clip the nesxt day which was when i got pulled.
anyways, i told him my story he did't beleive me and i even tried showing him the mark on the plates where i ran it over from. he told me to take it up with the judge so whatever.
and then, he started looking around my car for someting else ot write me a ticket for. ....my window, he told me to rolled them up, he took a card andplace it against the the inside of the window. he looked on the outside of the window and then said that my window were to dark. even though i bought the car like that. ******* *****!!
$120 no front plates
$120 illegal tint
im thinking about fighting the case, you guys think i would win??? and considering that its not even a big deal
here's the pic of the ep the same day it broked off, u think the tints are to dark?

Yes, because you bought a car with an illegal degree of tint, that automatically makes the cop a ***** for writing you a ticket.
Is there a purpose to this post?

yes it makes him a ***** for pulling me over for one reason and writing me another ticker for another reason.
and yes there is a reason for this post.
wondering if i was to fight the case, would you guys think i would win.

I once got pulled over for no front plate. Then he walked around my car and wrote me up another ticket for my exhaust. Its just a fixit ticket just take the tint off and put the front plate back on.
going to take it to a tint shop and ask them if its really a illegal tint or not. if not, then have them write me a note so i can show to the judge its not illegal. and about the front plate, i putted it on in front of the damn police officer. i got pulled over near a macco paint/body shop and i pulled in there parking lot. one of the worker there was nice enough to give me 2 bolts for the plates. as i was sitting there screwing the bolt in, he still wrote me the ticket.
my cousin had a jetta with limo tint all the way around and even 30 across the entire windshield. he got out of a ticket by finding a picture of another white jetta with untinted windows and showing it to the judge.

If you were to fight the case? On what grounds? You didn't do your homework and check what the percentage tint laws are in your state vs. what the percentage the guy tinted the windows to? Or that your license plate fell off (probably due to improper fastening aka. neglect)?
I had to drive a friend's bimmer up to syracuse (about 200mi) and it didn't have a front or rear bumper, but I had the dealer plate in the rear window (which is supposedly legal in NY) and I still got nailed.
****'s ****, suck's suck, deal with it.
I doubt you can make a valid argument, but it's worth showing up for an argument just to see, maybe the judge got a BJ last night and he'll be in a good mood.
It's not a trial case, it's not like you need a lawyer. You have nothing to lose but an hour or two of your time, go for it.

you really should ignore some of these people.
any local tint shop will know your local laws.
also have you had your car inspected with the tint?
If the tint was illegal it wouldn't have passed inspection.
a cop using some crap on the side of the highway is too subjective, what if its cloudy? then the results will be wrong.
and yes i would bring the plate into court with you and explain what happen. It was a dick move of the cop to give you a ticket, but you should understand that you have the car of an ******* kid, and ******* cops are more likely to give ******* kids a ticket.
i'd never drive a car with tint for that exact reason.

Not sure about the laws where you live but here in TN (and I want to think its the same everywhere) since he did not use a VLT to meter your tint to check what percent it is then it will get thrown out of court. No matter how dark it is.
Just ask who verified his eyes to meter window tint.

If you fight it, the judge will probably cut you a deal on the plate and for the tint, all you have to do is tell the judge that he used a card and not the device that shoots a beam of light through the window, to get an ACCURATE reading. The light outside could effect his way of determining how dark it was.
Good luck.
Good luck.
You guys are clueless, of course fight the ticket, the front plate will def. get thrown out if you have it fixed, and as for the tints either fix em or do like that guy said and take a pic of the same car w/ no tints, or just ell em you took em off, I got a ticket for no insurance card and no license, fought it, went to court w/insurance card and license and saved $200+...always fight the man.

According to the IWFA, CA allows 70% front side tint. It's not much, but it is something. 70% tint is near stock.
Either way though, that's not applicable here since the OP doesn't live in California. The OP lives in WA, where the law says no more than 35% on the front sides. The car the OP has in his post looks like it has darker than 35%.

in jersey it wouldn't be worth fighting. no amount of tint is legal, and no front plate is illegal. technically you are responsible for putting the plate back on and you shouldn't have drive the car until it was back on (technically) so you will lose that one for sure. i vote just pay it and put the plate back on, they probably won't keep bothering you about the tints unless you do something else wrong, ie. no front plate, speeding... sucks but it happens to all of us. comes with the territory so get used to it. pay the ticket and

my .02 cents there is now such thing as legal tint.
no tint at all on the pass. and driver side.
i recomend not fighting cause if you do and loose you have to pay fot the time of the judge and the piggys day.? i think.
well good luck fixing it and getting checked couldn't cost more that 10 bucks.
and if it CHP it a free write off.
well in SO CAL at least.

i know in north dakota, if you have your windows down, they cant pull you over for tint. south dakota has no tint laws, and a buddy of mine got a car from down there, and for a few months he just drove around with his side windows down till he got it fixed after he got a warning. also if you fixed your plates while getting pulled over, they should of just dropped it down to a warning. ive fixed stuff infront of cops before, pisses them off like none other, but they never have given me a ticket. if you do take it to court, dress up, it helps.
