Random Power Failure
2003 Honda Accord EX V6 80K miles Random Power Failure - Sometimes when i break or come to a complete stop, the car mysteriously dies (like battery failure) but then i just turn the key and the car starts again. Or when I park and next morning start my car, everything (clock, radio station) is reset like at some point the battery was cut off, but the car starts normally! Any ideas anyone???
My wife drives a 96 EX. Couple months ago, she was at a gas station getting gas. Car wouldn't start afterwards. All utilility lights worked. It sounded like the starter just clicks and wouldn't turn over. I had to have the car tolled to my mechanic. Luckily, it was close to home.
To make a long story short, it was the battery connection problem. What threw me off was that, everything else electrical worked except turning over with the starter cranking. My mechanic explained to me that Honda needs lot more juice at starting time. A loose connection would do it to you. So, try cleaning your battery cable connection and make it tight. Good luck.
