Getting Rid of E-Brake Handle
Search for this one was fruitless.
What I want to do...since I got rid of the gold bezel around the shifter (auto) and everything in my interior is black and blue...is get rid of the ugly rubber black and gold E-Brake handle
Now...what am I to do with this? Ive tugged on it for all its worth and the little rubber beast wont budge off of whatever its connected to.
My solution is this:
1) Measure the depth of the E-Brake handle Im interested in installing. Calibrate depth of aftermarket handle to ensure release button will be fully extended to ensure no rattling will occur
2) Mark the stock E-Brake handle at the max depth of new handle
3) Use razorblade to cut around and thru the circumference of stock handle at the mark and then, from that cut to the button at end of stock handle cut a straight line down length of handle.
4)Peel rubber handle off of whatever its attached to. Remove gold ring and button from what most likely is a steel handle underneath.
5) Attach new handle as necessary and calibrate to make sure the button wont rattle as stated above.
6) Leave rest of stock rubber bezel surround (wide rubber cover over base of E-Brake handle close to centert console) attached and snug against bottom end of aftermarket handle to preserve stock, clean look.
Ta-Da....DIY without even the 'D' or 'I' involved
Cheers.!
P.S...nobody do this until I try it first...I dont want people sending me gas receipts saying I cause you to travel to Auto Zone unnescessarily

is it wrong to call it an "e-brake"? or am I missing the bigger picture here.

They function the same, therefore they are the same.

That would be in reference to the clothes hanger arms that are on the headliner.
