99 civic Air Fuel problems when engine hits operating temperature
I have a 99 civic that has been several people's project car. I don't know what all has been done too it or what size injectors it has in it but I will list what I do know about it and my problem. It has a D16 motor with skunk2 intake and aem fuel rail. I believe that it has an electronic fuel pump with a psi gauge that sits at 40 at idle. I just got the check engine light to go off after replacing some sensors and doing some modifications as I didnt want to map my own ecu. Ok.....when I first start it up it runs great.....after it gets to operating temperature I loose a ton of power....someone told me to get a piggy back system so I could adjust my air fuel ratio and rpm points...others told me to try one of those air temperature mods first. Anyone who has had similar problems please let me know. Any threads that could help would also be appreciated. As far as I can tell the factory ecu is messing up my air fuel when the engine reaches operating temperature. As well does anyone know how the air fuel is calculated when the engine is cold? Is it a preset of some sort? Because the only time it seems like it runs right is when the I first start it up and the engine is cold.
