Default Compression Rings won't compress

I'm installing my pistons and I finally got a ring compressor that will work. The problem is my compression rings seem to be so tight in their ring grooves that they will not compress at all. Even squeezing them with my hand i can't get them to move, the ring grooves are just physically not deep enough, i'm not sure what to do. I've gapped the rings correctly according to manufacturer's specs. I'm using Manley Pistons and Manley rings.
