Default Brake problem

Sup,
So was having trouble with my brakes, as in alot of brake fade. I could hit the brakes pretty hard and my car would slow down ok but wouldnt really grab. Like i could push my pedal to the floor and wasnt stopping that great. Also would increase my reves and cause my car to idle high sometimes. I figured the problem to by my power brake booster. I replaced said booster and seems i am still getting the same problem. I am also having another issule. My brakes will become rock hard and pretty much stuck. Its like my brakes are engaged and my car wont move without reasonable force. I figured this could be the powe brake booster valve on the vacume line that connects to the intake manifold. I replaced that valve and still encounting the same problem. Hard brake pedal and locked up brakes was not an issue before i replaced the power brake booster either. Doesnt happen all the time but my pedal will get rock hard and my brakes will begin to drag really bad. I have to get out of the car and pull off the vacuum hose on the power brake booster to releive the pressure. After that my brakes will release and car seems ok for a bit. I did replace the valve but with a universal one and dont think that is the issue. I did think maybe that the maladjusted power brake booster could be causing this. THe only real adjustment i made to my power brake booster before installtion was i threaded the peice that connects to the pedal the same distance as the old. In other words i counted the revolutions to remove it and did the same when i installed the new one. To sum it up, one problem is my car doesnt stop for crap, brakes drag alot but will not lock up wheels at all. 2nd problem is, vacuum is causing my brakes to drag and pressure is not being released thru the valve.
Thx for any help or suggestions
John

Nope, not leakng any BF and i bled the brakes just to make sure it wasnt that. My next thing i guess is, replacing the MC and changing entire break fluid.

i think the problem was your brake booster originally, and then you messed up the adjustment. check out the section in the helms shop manual on how to properly adjust it.

also make sure that check valve from the booster to the intake manifold is in the right direction.

yo,
Yea i havent adjusted it since installation but read the How-Tos on what to do, just need to do it. Honestly it seems to be adjusted right imo. I could be wrong of course but when i get up in the morning and go to class, every day in the exact same spot(road or stretch of hwy) the brakes slowly start to get harder and the brakes will stay engaged. I have to pull over and depressurerize the power break booster before it will disengage. After that it seems ok. As for the valve being turned the right way, It can only go one way, if i flip it around then when i start car the vacume sucks air thru the valve and air cant get back. In other words, when i start the car, the breaks immediately become rock hard. My old valve had a directional arrows on it pointing the to the engine but the universal one does not. I am really at a loss on this issue.

Ps. Adjusting them is going to be a pain the arss while installed, the adjustment screw is like impossible to get to while installed. I hate to have to remove the PBB to adjust it. : /

FWIW, there is a write-up on how to adjust the brake pedal to MC clearence without removing the PBB. I don't have the link off hand, but "Tegger" is the author. He has a site with a lot of information on it. You should come up with a couple of hits if you google the name.
