I need to know what year my d16y8 is? I know how to find it on a b-series motor but not a d-series. I've searched but all I can really come up with is a b-series answer. So how do I find out what year my d-series is? All the way on the far right of the head there is a 98 but I'm not sure if that means it's from a 98 or not. Thanks

 

9|8 means it's from a 98. If you look at the bottom of the block right before the oil pan, there's a VIN plate. Use that to determine what year it is.

10th digit from the left

T – 1996

V – 1997

W – 1998

X – 1999

Y – 2000
