My 2004 Civic LX is throwing a code (p0122 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A circuit Low Input". I cleared the code with a code reader, but the code came back. I guess Imma just change the sensor. Do i need a whole new throttle body or just the sensor? how hard would this be to do? I know on older model hondas, the TPS is riveted on. I never really messed with these new Honda engines. Any help is apperciated.

 

its still riveted onto the throttle body. Quickest fix is to replace the whole TB. Changing the sensor would probably involve some fiddling with drilling rivets and getting some kind of new fastener in there. I dont know that I'd mess with it too much.

 

any idea on how much a throttle body would cost?

 

simple fix will take about 1 hour replace the whole tb.good luck

 

yea. The CEL turned off on its own. If it comes back i'll change out the throttle body.
