I know they have ABS but what else is different on the Si?

 

My 94 SI doesnt/never did have AC from the factory...

 

94-95 had painted front bumper grill
94-95 has factory passenger side airbag

 

92-93 had firewall mounted mapsensor vs 94-95 had the throttlebody map sensor.

 

there . alot a difrence like elect. sun roof and etc.

 

Only the 94 had the option of ABS, none of the other years.

No it's not an actual side airbag, but he meant that on the passenger side of the car there was an extra airbag that the 92-93 did not have.

The passenger airbag is mounted in the dashboard and comes out like a regular airbag - it just deploys on the passenger side of the car, not on the side of the passenger.



...and yes I can verify only 1994 had an OPTION for ABS - only that year.

Oh yeah I never saw anyone post the interior differences.

92/93 had vertical light grey lines running up the seat inserts, while the bolsters had this grey color cloth that turns green over time. the dorr cloth inserts also hatch the seat inserts with the light grey vertical stripes.

94/95 had a rainbow pattern that was horizontal on seat inserts, while the bolsters had a softer, more plush darker grey cloth that stays more grey over time than the 92/93 style. the door cloth inserts are plain dark grey/black and match the seat bolster, not the insert, like the 92/93 did.

Also someone said the front bumer grille was painted, but it wasn't the actual grille, but the side inserts/fog light grille areas.

All the Si's had power sun roof, pm,ps, all where radio and ac delete these where dealer installed options. the big differance was the abs option and the pass side air bag, and the painted grills where the fog lights go. I wasn't aware they changed the seat and dorr insert colors

I'm curious where you got this info....
The 93 EX is TB mounted, same engine. pics of the 92 and 93 SI show TB mounted. Parts lists show TB mounted, and the same part number for the 92-95 SI
I'm calling till someone corrects me.

Yup. I have USDM ITR seats lined up for this car. Just need to find time to put them in. Plus I really want to get a DB8R rear cushion. Can't find one in Hawaii.

Oh, I think the vertical lined EH3 seats are horrible looking. It's like designer fashion seats.

 

All the si's have d16z6's and all have throttle body mounted map sensors. I think your talking about the cx's that have firewall mounted map's.

 

Sorry guys my mistake, just the dx's, cx's, and vx'x that had the firewall one. For some reason I was under the understanding that they all did, however looking at it the si's seem to be the debut of the throttlebody map which the non vtecs switched to in 94.

 

92 Si hatchbacks had color matched door handles, but black mirrors.

I know 94/95 Si hatchbacks came with rear speakers. Not sure about the 92/93, but I do know that rear speakers were optional on 93 EX coupes.

I think you may be mistaken even further than you thought.

I can personally vouch for the 92 VX, 93 EX, and 93 DX being TB mounted.

part# 37830-P05-A01 - TB mounted map sensor - 92-95 SI, EX, VX, DX, CX and LX

I had to go back to 91 to get a MAP sensor that wasn't TB mounted.

Don't think you had to. I have a firewall mounted MAP from a EG DX (don't know the year) hooked to my EH2 w/ B16A. Got it from HAPrecyling.

 

92-94 Has fuel filter with 2 lines on top 95 has fuel filter with one on top; one on bottom.

The EPC doesn't list 92 as having GBP.

 

Actually Flint Black is listed as a 1992 Color option for the Si HB. I personally have owned two 1992 Granada Black pearl Si hatches, but I have actually seen a Flint Black 1992 Si in person before at my shop.

Looked like it did to me, but then again Granada has this black cherry maroon pearl too. They didn't look much different to me.

I ended up painting my 1992 Si HB Flamenco Black Pearl anyways - much nicer black. More Blue/Siler pearl, but not so overly done like the lack cherry flake in Granada.
