Default What are some good, older bikes for a fixer upper?

I've been looking at fixing up an old bike, lately. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but have very little motorcycle experience, and would be learning as I go along.

This idea was actually spawned in GDD, where some guys posted up bikes they had fixed up.

I would be looking for slightly older import bikes, not necessarily Honda. Possibly going for a little of the Capuccino racer style, but I'm open for anything really.

Basically are there any years, makes and models to keep an eye open for (mostly just looking around Craigslist from time to time), or to stay away from?

I pretty much just need another hobby, and have been wanting to get into motorcycles for quite awhile, and would love to fix one up.

Edit: Didn't realize this was the marketplace
