As some of you already know, my civic was wrecked and i just got it back on friday.I bought the car with that ugly **** on the valve cover, so today i decided to clean it up. and below are the pics.

I used my two hands and sand paper, trust me a pain i mean a pain in the back.
I went to home depot to buy a sand blaster, and they don't carry it .
I looked into getting a pressure wash, that **** is expense like a ****.
So came back and did it the hard way.

 

Actually i did this little project in my back yard, and i had paper on the ground than i worked on it, as i worked, i sprayed cleaner, and water on it, thats what made the newspaper look like that

i was about to wash mine tonight. my girl rolled the windows up and then my brother came out and told us there is a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow

im in still in the beginning stages of that prcoess
still on 120 grit. and havent been anywhere close.

but i got the sander now. no more tennis arm.

 

i wasted my beautiful sunday working my *** off at work changing tires making time and a half.. it was hell but after work i went out w/ my motorcycle riding buddies and had some fun..

i still need to polish and clean it up, but i was too too toooo tired by the time i was done. but still looks better than before.

 

what a waste of time, u should have just got some paint thinner and pored it all over the valve cover

Not to sound like a dick...But what did you do? They look almost identical. Was that prep for painting, or something of the like?

 

Thats what my sister said, when looking at the final pciture. The reason is because it was getting dark, and the camra didn't grab a better pciture, but if you look at it in person you can easily tell the difference. I bought the car from the Acura dealorship, and to my believe who ever had the car before me had painted the valve cover, so the dealership just threw something on it to give it a neutral look, and it looked like ****. look at the second picture, it looks nastier in person
