Painting EG Side Moldings
So I'm wondering whether or not it is possible to have the rubberish side moldings on my Civic painted with out any troubles. I see that alot of guys just remove them, but I think that looks kinda cheap and would prefer to have them match the body. If anybody has successfully done this without problems (paint peeling, discolored look, etc) then let me know! Is there anything I need to take into consideration to prevent a junky job?
pop them off....sand with very fine grit...i would say 600 or so IF YOU MUST SAND IT....otherwise just use some degreaser...when dry...go to town with a can of spray paint... make sure you give it plenty of time to dry (at least a day) or it might end up lookin like **** when you go to put it on...
even though the paint might look like its cured on the outside...underneath is probably still a little soft..
they do have special paint called "bumper coating" type paint and that works really well...

I left them on my car and used sharkskin to protect from over spray, just taped up around it and used the bumper paint that was previously mentioned and went to town with that and a heat gun. I painted the lip, moldings, and rear molding. I hit it with some steel wool before hand as well.
