Default Help with Toda ITB's

Hi guy's, about to acquire the toda ITB's and have a couple of Q's....

My question related to whether the head needs to be welded to achieve maximum gains or whether the itb's can be bolted on without any modification. I'm a little unsure about the process of welding of the head so if anyone has detailed info/suggestions, I would love to hear about it (of-course i will have it done by an engineer so no DIY's here)...

Thanks from Australia

Jansen

If you are referring to the combustion chambers welded and then re-shaped then NO...

however, you will need higher compression, cams of some sort, and an exhaust to flow all of that intake air.....

also, the key ingredient will be a stand alone ems, and a competent tuner.....

You need to have a good tuner. ITB's will run like crap unless you have someone with experience to tune them.

Quick search "ITB" using only archived content from the Type R forum:
https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch

I'm still looking for a particular thread discussing ITBs.

*Still searching.

If you're getting them for a deal, resell them for profit, unless your engine is at the point where you need ITBs.

That's what I'd do.

sorry guys.. i'll list my engine...

Toda valve train, toda pistons, mugen intake , toda header, RM01A exhaust, power fc, e.t.c.

I guess she's built... I really do not have many mods left for me so I guess the ITB's are next...

And yes, welding refers to the inlets on the combustion chamber

What cams are you running with them?

ITB's you do NOT want to weld...get a outlaw engineering IM gasket and bolt that sucker on. Ive been running two of a kind Jenvey ITB's for a year now and it idles and runs like stock except the additional 60whp...

you DO want to port match the itb's to the head.

i'm assuming your head is ported and polished.....
