Default testing the water

Thinking of selling 98 type R #1043. 17,500 miles.JRSC A/C Racing hart 16in wheels ,factory fogs, momo steering wheel.Never winter driven.truly mint...What should i try and sell for. After reading responses from this post.I would like to add.First all the mods to this car were done by a certified acura master tech. The JRSC is flawless drives as if stock untill you engage your right foot.never any detonation.Has a comptech header,b&m shifter,Jackson intake, skunk lower tie bar, factory trunk mat,blk factory floor mats,Custom car cover. All fluids have been changed.Timing belt and water pump has been changed at 17,000.have all stock parts except(intake manifold, stock exhaust) this includes steering wheel and air bag and wheels.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

theres an amazing site called kbb.com

With 17,500 original miles and truly mint + JRSC.... I'm thinking at least 19-$20k

With 17,500 miles I would ask 20k firm given it is in mint condition, clean title etc etc. I'm assuming the car has been garage kept sand thus the paint is in excellent condition as well.

Post pics!

I'm not sure why you posted this, KBB isn't used by banks- they use NADA. For either case, both under value Type Rs and until the last few years did not even list a price for these cars due to their rarity.

Ditto... plus 10%!

Someone mentioned $20k and I agree, that's a realistic price assuming the car is mint. F/I ITR's just don't hold their values given all the hours invested. It must be a reliability thing.

sorry, but if the car was STOCK or with minor mods, Id say 18-20K is realistic. But with a supercharger? That substantially lowers the value for me if I was a potential buyer.

To be honest, I think the most you will actually get someone to pay will be around $15-16k for it.

I know it has low miles, but it has a JRSC and people freek out about that for some reason. Even if it were stock, I don't forsee that kind of loot coming at you.

GL with the sale and I am for sure up to see some pics, sounds very sweet.

What ever happened two years ago on this thread? It seems there was some confusion on the badge number.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1357526&page=1

Most potential buyers are going to want to know who did the tuning and engine management, otherwise they could be just getting a clean car with a grenade under the hood even at < 20k miles.

Type R's are never sold second hand without a plethora of maintenance history and photographs. There are just too many out there that have been neglected by kids.

You should keep it and put some mileage on it!
