my 12V constant is REALLY hot :'(
I have 2 12 inch neons running off it.. the neons are also connected to the dome light, so they turn on w/ the doors open, or when i flip the switch...
but why is the 12V constant so freakin hot after like 5 min of the car being on.. the neons werent even on!... and close to one of the plugs the white wire is a bit brown, i think its burning!, you cant smell anything though.. anywho anyone know whats going on?
and its a 99 civic si

easiest way, get yourself some 8 gauge or 10 gauge wire (you really need to figure out current draw and wire length to know which will suffice, but i'm assuming you cant go wrong with 8 to neons)
Get a ring terminal, crimp one end and connect it to your positive battery terminal. Cut it after about 10" and insert an inline fuse..the same stuff you'd use in an audio installation or even a cheap inline with a slot type fuse in it, run the wire from the fuse to your lights and your good to go.
if you find a spare fuse location under your dash, you can also run it from there in a similar manner, a spare fuse location will be shown in the diagram thats usually on the back of the fuse panel cover-cover. it'll show a fuse 'spot' as "Spare" or unused, that means if you fuse it appropriatley at that location you can also run your lights from there.

is there already power running through those spare fuses?, will i have to run power from the battery to the spare fuse terminal then to the neons? or just from the spare fuse to the neons?
