Are honda automatic trannys worth a crap!!!
I'm thinking about getting a 2008 civic EX for my girl and i was wondering if anyone has heard anything bad about honda's auto trannys. Do they last?

I wasn't impressed with my automatic 06 LX sedan. The transmission was pretty jerky (especially when slowing down and then accelerating). I also had problems with it down shifting FAR too sensitively and causing my MPG to suck, and it also had problems down shifting adequately when I needed extra power. Never again, I'm afraid.

sides the 2 sec delay sensing the throttle, I like my auto tranny fine...its a relaxed ride/daily driver...if you need more power to pass someone, put it on D3 real quick and letter rip
I'm sticking with an auto when I get a new 8th gen Civic, but from my Accord auto experience, it's a nightmare.
I have a 98-02 Accord that is notorious for tranny failure. They didn't get enough fluid or coolant or something in 2nd gear and it just fried itself. I got it replaced under warranty (Honda extended the tranny warranty to 7 years/100k miles), and then 300 (free) dollars in repair after that.
Boo Honda tranny hooray beer!
