Wheeltronics, came off the mac truck so it has some generic mac vinyl on it and had a huge price tag. I would go with something certified by the automotive lift institute. i know there was this place in Indiana with 1300$ two post asymmetrical lifts, they are generic i believe, but for the money not bad.

We received a catalog in the mail for atlas lifts, which I believe are generic . I just don't want them failing while someone is under them

I work at a Honda dealership and we use Rotary Lift two post lifts at work. The capacity is 5 tons.

There are up/down controls on both posts, brackets for holding air hoses and pneumatic tools, optional use rubber pads, enough comfortable height for people up to 6 foot tall, asymmetrical length arms for longer wheelbase trucks. You don't have to manually set the locks and the arms will lock the swivel once the arms reach a certain height.

We can put any Honda on them, and I've seen one of the techs put his new Dodge Ram in between the posts and on the lift. I can put my Integra on there, but I have to jack it up first so it'll clear the OEM optional side skirts.

I like them. No complaints....well, one. The damn thing is really frikkin' slow.

Greg Smith is chinese junk.

Like I said in your other post. Rotary lifts are great and well known throughout the industry. If you want I can hook you up with a rotary rep. Mine was 4100 installed with a 5 year warranty. Took the guy 4 hours to install it and he was alone.

I swear thats the magazine a friend brought in. He said nothing but good things... which is not saying a lot cause I don't talk to a lot of people who deal with big equipment like that.

I know rotary is a very good company, I also believe bend-pak is as well.

I was looking on there, I'm hearing a lot of shops that go out of business sell for cheap.

Dumb question but never dealt with a lift, is air required ? I was told no by someone but not sure how much he knew about it.

I'll try and find the name brand of mine, I'd suggest buying one used, like I did, got mine for $800CAD, picked it up on the way home went to home depot and got some 3/4" anchors, 2 hours after that I had a car up in the sky. Mine has a 7000lb capacity, its a 2 poster.

When I was a benz tech we bought a couple used lifts too for around 1k each. They aren't too hard to find man.

lol I don't trust myself.... I'm searching craigslist but not coming up with a whole bunch. Waiting for howitt to chime in and tell me how he has a lift that can lift up a tank and he scored it for 20 bucks.

Check the milwaukee craigslist section, there is a guy selling 3 used ones.

No air is needed, but 220 is.

Make sure you get assymetrical.

i like the bend pacs. i dont like the locking mechanism on mohawk lifts, there is a loop on both sides that has to be pulled to release the locks.

Rotary also recently bought Direct Lift which is another Taiwan brand. I have two of their lifts, and have about the same money in both as you guys have in one Rotary.

If Rotary bought the company, it must be alright

</TD></TR></TABLE>No, it means that Rotary just increased their profit margin since they just bought a factory in Taiwan that can make their stuff at 1/2 the price it's currently being made. Yeah for CEO profitablity!!!

We have 7 Rotary 2-post lifts and a Bend-Pak 4-post lift. Everything has been great with the Rotary's, the Bend-Pak we had to replace bearings on after 3 years.
