Default crome ecu in b16 crx

ok i just got my crome ecu in today and it has launch control. but the problem is it says the vss sensor has to work in order for it to work so i installed the ecu and started my car.
seeing if the launch control worked and it did.
but when i drive it will hit a rev limit at 4800 where i set the L/C at. then all of a sudden it will not hit the L/C and rev all the way to 8500 rpms. my car is a 89 crx with a b16 converted to obd1 and still using the cable tranny anyone know a sulutuion
also my speedo works

That is weird, if your speedo is working properly, it should have no problem. Is the speedo needle "jumping" around at all? or it it pretty steady? How often has this happened?

my speedo is pretty steady and if i shut my car off and start it back up it will do the same thing. just like it will hit the launch control but when driving it will hit the limiter at 4800 where the L/C is set at then it will start driving normal reving all the way out but wont do the launch control when stopped? yeah it is wierd. would it have anything to do with the fact i have a mechanical vss instead of a electrical?

that is very strange.. that is obviously not supposed to happen. the only 2 variables that launch control monitors is the rpm and the speed of the car. AFAIK, the obd0 and obd1 speed sensors generate the same information, so that should not affect your ecu at all. if you have launch control, i would expect that you should be able to datalog driving it around, which will tell you what sensor is messed up. my bet is the ecu is messed up somehow though.. or your vss is broken, but you should be able to tell from datalogging.

I have launch control on my car, and if my speedo cable pops out, the car cant rev over 4k. that is the only issue i have ever had.

Wow I've had the complete opposite issue. I had LC and it wouldn't disengage after burning a new chip. The rev limiter was stuch at the LC. New chip fixed that problem...you should try that too, maybe the chip didn't burn nicely and requires you to shut the vehicle off to restore the LC.
