Default Suspension Upgrade, suggestions?

I'm currently on a 99 DX coupe with a B16 swap, been running on stock suspension. Last month I hit a curb going at 50 and bent one of my front struts pretty badly. My mechanic said I'll need to replace to entire right assembly, and replacing it with used stock parts cost 300+, so I'm thinking of putting on some aftermarket parts and lower the car as well.

I've been looking at Koni Yellows with GC springs, but a friend of mine told me to go all out and try PIC's Select coilovers. The car's mainly for DD, save for a few track runs here and there, so I don't really want the setup to be too stiff. Any suggestions for brands or spring rates?

Also, I'm thinking of upgrading the brakes... Might rip the setup from a 00Si and put Brembo blanks on them... bad idea? I'm on 15" Si rims, so a big brake kit prolly won't fit.

If your keeping it D.D , id definatly go with Koni's and G/C's. PIC susp is great, but a bit of overkill for a Dailydriver, unless you prefer a very stiff ride.

i had yellow adjustable koni shocks once..and i love it..great for a dd..and also upgrade the brakes..just get the ss brake line, drill/slot rotors and some nice pads will be good enough, u dont really need the big caliper and rotors upgrage unless u are going to the track or racing or something...

300 bucks is bs, you should do the work yourself, you'd get it done in a couple hours.

if you're upgrading brakes you will be buying most of the parts that you probably need to replace anyway.

for 300 you could get a complete front/rear setup, just shop around i bet you can find all the parts you need for under 150.

How about KYB AGX? Would that be a better choice for DD?

I just installed tokico illuminas and i love the way they ride and dampen. My car is daily driven and i drive at stock height due to the streets i live on, but i know from personal experience, unless you get serious coilovers your ride quality will suffer the lower you go, and also you'll put alot of stress on your trailing arm bushings, and your rear lca bushings too if you don't reset them.

Around 1k... But it would be nice if I had some left over so I could work on a ITR front and rear conversion with new Brembo blanks and pads...
