Default Trustworthy shop in So Cal?

Is there a shop that you trust your s2000 to be taken too somewhere in southern california? I'm located in the Santa Monica area.

I need to have a compression test/leak down test done on my car. Lately, my stock exhaust has been fuming visible smoke (white) and my MPGs have dropped from 24 (when I first bought it), down to 20, and now I'm at possibly 9-10 mpg (after a 1/4 of a tank, i'm only at 35 miles).

Any help would be appreciated. I would like to take care of this ASAP before my car takes a dump on me.

thanks.

awesome. thanks guys.

and santos:

- 29K miles.
- hit VTEC probably once a day.
- no race events.
- i misshifted the other day, but i don't think it was too bad, b/c i depressed the clutch as soon as i heard the high revs.
- what are rev limit pings?

When you bounce the revs off the limiter.

yeah. my MPG was at 35 miles after 1/4 tank already at that point, and my stock exhaust was smelling like i was running no cat.

for the most part, when i first bought the car, it was averaging 20-24. i'm not sure if my short commutes city driving has anything to do with the drop, but right now, i'm down to 9-10 mpg.

Your car is done. Probably a blown head gasket. Do not drive it anymore. Doing so is only making it worse.

i'm a bit color blind, so it's hard for me tell with any certainty.

a blown head gasket = engine death?

i recalculated today, and my MPGs r at approximately 14 mpg (without VTEC). i didnt notice the smoking today, so i'm really unsure. i'm not in my car very often daily, since my commute is about 2miles to work.

If you know something is wrong w/ the car, why are you asking on HT? Take it to a mechanic to have it looked at ASAP. You can find another shop to do to the work, but first determine what is wrong w/ the car.

Fixed or diagnosed? Can't fix something if you don't know what is wrong with it.
