Belt squeaks
Everything is tight and bolted on good. The belt still squeals a bit with engine load. Just a bit for a few second, then it goes away. And it'll come back once the engine load changes in both acceration and decelleration. The funny thing is, it only happens when the air is cold, like morning drive to work. Coming home, I don't hear it. It's not the engine being warm because I still get the same sound 30-40 mins into my AM trip. I can duplicate it almost on command 50% of the time. I do not hear it in the afternoon when the air is warm.
What do you think is the problem short of replacing the whole belt? Car is only 1.5 years old. I don't take it to the dealer because of the mods, and I had to remove the belt (alternator). The noise only only happened 1 month after I touched it.
I read that you can try belt conditioner or even chalk. Any comments?
