my SiR's 1/4 mile time
This weekend there were 1/4 mile runs at the local dragstrip (former airstrip)
Smoked Corrado G60, hybrid Peugeot's 205 and nearly got 4WD Audi S2!!
my best run:
reaction time: 0.988s (best I've had 0.725s) (Audi-> 0.555s!!!!!!)
1/8 mile: 9.999s at -unknown speed-
1/4 mile: 15.230s at 152.5kmh
Weather:
dry, cloudy and there was medium/strong wind blowing head-on
Car:
1991 CRX SiR: b16a1 (150hp) with CAI+free flow exhaust, 98 RON, and chipped rom with 9K revline+advanced timing (4-2-1 header not installed yet)
Ran on 15" with 195/50R15 toyo proxes and 1/4 full tank with stripped interior
-------
Are under perfect conditions are mid 14's possible?
Cool fact: I reach 1/4 mile in 3rd gear @ 8900rpm

Sounds like a decent run for your setup. The reason for the Audi's quick r/t is the awd most likely, i bet their 60' time killed as well. Just be careful with that ECM. I have seen myselft stock Honda retainers break at 9k, I have no questions that a stock B16 bottom end will do 9k and be happy, but the B16 valve train isn't made to take it.

I got the advice not to pass the 9000 rpm limit on a b16a1 without adding an extra valve spring or using titanium retainers/springs..
I'm thinking of using CTR or Jun3 cams with the above.. but I'm just wondering what times I'd make with a B18c6 (190hp EDM spec) swap.
60ft time is 2.546s, Audi is 1.956
Here's a picture of my drag rims, believe it or not this setup gives better handling than the 16" Stillauto's!!

Get those 60 foot times down... If you can get that down to a 2.2 or 2.3, you'll be running 14s easy.
dang man i got a bud that ran a 15.6 in his hatch with a sohc. something doesnt sound right. maybe your 0-60 time or something. you telling me that makes me not want to get a b-series.
2.5 60's!! jeez, dont launch so hard! im getting 1.9 and 2.0 60' in my stang and was getting 2.0 in the crx i had...just ease into it to rev it up real high and drop the clutch its just gona spin

to the D series fanatics: keep in mind that a B16 in a CRX is a stock setup in some parts of the world that are lucky enough to get it. low 15's is not bad AT ALL for a 1600cc, FWD ~2100 pound car. that walks on new SI's any day. those are better numbers than many new cars. the integra type r runs a high 14! does that mean that you do not want a B18C5?
if this was japan, and B16 CRX's were available from the factory, i doubt there would be many turbo ZC or D series setups.
it takes a lot for americans to get their cars setup with the motor honda intended to be in that car, a B16. but, it is worth the expense, and you will get what you pay for. no one can deny that there wasn't nearly the same amount of time dedicated to any d series motor as there was the design of the B16.

So true.. The SiR is a heavyweight! Stock 2245lbs!! I stripped most from the interior but keep in mind that weight is put back on by the 4 strut bars, rollcage and brake setup. Also note that the SiR's suspension parts are much thicker and solid than those of the "lesser Gods"
The factory time for the JDM (160hp) SiR is 15.49s.
I tried to find the correct launch method. The best way with the small 195 toyo's seems 2500rpm and dump clutch or 3000rpm and let the clutch slip..More rpm and the result is a wheelie in reverse
I need 15x7,5 rims with sticky 215/225 tires
I hate fading

damn those are some pretty big discs there..barely fits rims
i ran a 15.3
b16a swap, intake, removed rear section of my exhaust, and the shittiest tires known to man,
so you have some room for improvement, maybe your car is heavier than mine i dunno.

15.2's arent bad numbers for a FF but think about the people who spend the money and time in america to get a b16 in a CRX or civic and run the same times as a SOHC. I mean if i lived in Europe or Japan..i would ditch my SOHC/hatch setup fer a stock B16ed EF any day...but hey...when we have 108 hp CRX/civics stock...why not spend less money fer the same performance...I mean SOHC's are so plentiful...and parts are so easy to find, you can find them on the side of the street...like they say, another man's trash is another man's treasure.
He says "stripped interior"...so the CRX should be far from stock weight...
but hey....keep kicking that audi ***...hahahaha..
